Adrienne Hoffman – Assistant Childcare Director

Our childcare program has been licensed with the Department of Human Services since 2016. Our journey caring for children began as drop-in care for families using the gym facilities. We have expanded our care to three classrooms and school-age programs. In 2021 we gave our classrooms Ocean themed names: Infants – Guppies, Toddlers – Sea Turtles, Preschool – Dolphins, and School-age – Stingrays.

We participate in the Pennsylvania Keystone STARS of Quality Program, currently rated as a STAR 2, and patiently awaiting our approval for our STAR 3 designation. By participating in the Keystone STAR’s Program we strive to provide quality care for the children we serve by implementing various standards of education, environment, safety, staff training and more.

Communications

We use the Procare App, which can be accessed via the app or on the computer. Procare allows the teachers to share daily activities with families, meal information, illness/incident notifications, and potty information. Families, teachers and administrators are able to communicate fluently through the message feature. Tuition statements are sent through the app with the option to pay through the app as well.

We host a Spring and Fall Open House inviting all families to check out all the classrooms. During the open house families have the opportunity to meet all the staff and sign up for a parent-teacher conference.

Parent-Teacher conferences can be held at the parent or teacher requests anytime throughout the year.

We send out a monthly newsletter through the Procare App for all families to be informed about what each classroom is learning based on the monthly themes, and early learning standards. We also include community events held at the MACC and upcoming dates of importance.

Observations & Assessments

We complete 45 day observations on all new children using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire and the Ages and Stages Social Emotional Questionnaire.

Teachers complete monthly observations of the children in their class based on the early learning standards chosen and developmental goals set for the children.

We complete the OUNCE Assessment on all children in the fall and spring.

All assessments and observations are used to create learning goals for the children. We share all observations and assessments with parents during parent-teacher conferences to discuss concerns, areas of improvement and set goals for the children with the parent’s input.
